Pant, batting at number five, could only score more than 20 goals once after being named captain. He scored 29 points in Game 1. Against South Africa, Pant comes out on a wide ball outside the stump. From spin bowlers to fast bowlers, Pant has also been fired on the wide ball.

What do veterans think?
Veterans like Sunil Gavaskar and RP Singh have also made statements against Pant. RP Singh said Pant beats very aggressively in testing but is unable to do so in T20. What is the reason for this?

Sunil Gavaskar said it was not a good thing that Pant was permanently dismissed outside of the stump. They don’t learn anything.
