With no support, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed with losses today. This week, the market has closed in losses every session.
The market started with a loss
The market had been in the red zone since the pre-open session. Before the start of the session, the Sensex lost 400 points. Similarly, Nifty also lost up to 90 points in the pre-open session. SGX Nifty in Singapore was also showing signs of opening the market with losses. Both major indices started trading with a loss of 0.35%. At 09:20, the Sensex was trading below 51,300, down more than 215 points. Nifty was down about 57 points and was around 15,300 points.
Sensex and Nifty failed to recover from losses throughout the day. Nifty closed 67.10 points (0.44%) at 15,293.50. The Sensex finished at 51,360.42 with a loss of 135.37 points (0.26%). The Sensex lost 1,516.12 points (2.87%) this week. Similarly, Nifty suffered a loss of 498.70 points or 3.16% this week.
Yesterday there was a heavy fall
Earlier Thursday, the market ended activity with heavy losses after a strong start. The Sensex had started with a gain of around 600 points, but by the end of trading the Sensex had fallen 1,045.60 points (1.99%) to close at 51,495.79. Yesterday there was volatility over 1,700 points in the Sensex. NSE Nifty closed at 15,360.60 with a loss of 331.55 points (2.11%). Yesterday, both indexes fell to fresh 52-week lows.
The market has fallen every day this week
So far this week, the market has fallen victim to all session declines. On Wednesday, the Sensex was down 152.18 points (0.29%) at 52,541.39 and the Nifty was down 39.95 points (0.25%) at 15,692.15. On Tuesday, the Sensex was down 153.13 points at 52,693.57 and the Nifty was at 15,732.10 with a loss of 42.30 points. On Monday, the first day of the week, there was a huge market drop. In Monday’s trading, the Sensex had fallen about 16,000 points to a low of 52,527.08 points at one point. After the markets close, the Sensex was down 1,456.74 points (2.68%) at 52,846.70 and the NSE Nifty fell 427.40 points (2.64%) to close at 15,774 ,40.
Global market sales trend
The US Federal Reserve announced an interest rate hike of 0.75% on Wednesday this week. After that, the decline of the US market continues. After the rate hike, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 2.42% on Thursday. The technology-focused Nasdaq Composite Index was down 4.08%. At the same time, the S&P 500 (S&P 500) closed with a loss of 3.25%. Today, Asian markets are also in decline. Japan’s Nikkei is in a 1.56 percent loss. Hong Kong’s Hangseng is up 0.80%, while China’s Shanghai Composite is down slightly by 0.02%.
