Prior to the start of the T20 series against South Africa, Ishan Kishan was ranked 75th in the T20 standings. But in just three games he worked wonders and reached number seven.

Captains Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer slipped one place each to 16th and 17th respectively while Virat Kohli slipped two places to 21st. Among bowlers, pacer Bhuvneshwar moved up seven places to 11th, while leg thrower Chahal moved up four places to 26th.

Australian Josh Hazlewood regained his top spot in the T20 bowling standings, while Sri Lankan Mahesh Teeksha moved up 16 places to eighth.

This is the condition of the test ranking

In the Test standings, fast thrower Jasprit Bumrah moved up to third place after fellow countryman Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin remains in second place. Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin continue to hold the top two spots on the all-rounder list.

Rohit and Kohli are ranked seventh and tenth respectively in the Test batting rankings while England’s Joe Root rose to the top after scoring his second consecutive century in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship series against the New Zealand. Root now has five points more than Australian Marnus Labuschagne.

Root, who scored 176 runs in the opening rounds of the Nottingham Test, has 897 runs.

Fellow Root Jonny Bairstow and captain Ben Stokes also benefited. Bairstow’s 136 runs from 92 balls helped England win the final day by five wickets.

Bairstow moved up 13 places to 39th based on those brilliant runs, while Stokes managed to move up from 27th to 22nd. Pursuing the target, he went an unbeaten run of 75 runs.
